Russian words with multiple genders

How do I add multiple genders, e.g. Russian судья́ (sudʹjá, “judge”)? It can be both masculine and feminine (animate). Comma or pipe separation doesn't work, m-an, f-an. --Anatoli ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 21:54, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Plural

Why is plural abbreviated to p rather than pl when passed as an argument? --Njardarlogar (talk) 11:29, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

It dates back to the time when both the gender codes and language codes were templates. {{pl}} was the code for Polish, so {{p}} had to be used for plural. —CodeCat 11:37, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Misnomer?

Just a note to mention that the gender template is definitely a misnomer for including stuff like number and verb stuff, but not for animacy. The older meaning of "gender" was the "noun category" sense and animate vs. inanimate is perhaps the oldest noun category distinction. The sense of "gender" meaning "sex" is a newer sense and masculine vs feminine genders are less ancient gender distinctions.

If it were ever to renamed something like "essential properties" or "major attributes" or "key annotations", in some abbreviated form would probably be best. — hippietrail (talk) 10:34, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Is there a way for m-s, f-s, n-s (only singular for all genders)? As in some Greek nouns? I cannot find it. Thank you. sarri.greek (talk) 00:11, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Singular is normally assumed if nothing else is specified. Is there a reason that it needs to be explicitly given here? —Rua (mew) 11:29, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Virile and nonvirile genders

Is there a way to specify an invariant form (that doesn't change with number and/or gender ? edit: figured it out.
