Plútó
Hungarian edit
Etymology edit
From the Latin Plūtō (“Roman god of the underworld”).
Pronunciation edit
Proper noun edit
Plútó
Usage notes edit
Astronomers prefer the Hungarian spelling of the dwarf planet as Pluto, in accordance with the spelling of the other dwarf planets.[1] Nevertheless, its official spelling has been preserved[2] despite its demoted status, based on tradition that had been established this way.
