editTP
- (international standards, obsolete) Former ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code for East Timor from 1975 to 2002.
- Synonyms: TMP (alpha-3 1975–2002), TL (2002–present, as Timor-Leste)
- (international standards, obsolete) Former ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code for Portuguese Timor from 1974 to 1975.
Usage notes
editThe code was deprecated in favour of TL following the restoration of independence from Indonesia and the reestablishment of the country as Timor-Leste. However, it remained in use before that point, as the 1976 Indonesian annexation was never legally recognised by the United Nations.
