edit

@Mlgc1998 Could you run me through the info on all the sources you checked and what they contain? I need to harmonize this with other info as well. Mar vin kaiser (talk) 03:06, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Mlgc1998: Given the existence of 相舂, shouldn't "cheng--tio̍h" be 舂著? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 08:15, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser See the sources I mentioned in the edit history. The sources there seem to mostly separate and , such as p.34 and p.83 of Douglas 1899. In p.34, and are next to each other differentiated, while p.83 also differentiates / and . The 闽南方言大词典 also uses "" at p.486 at one of its examples. In the dictionaries in ChhoeTaigi, all the dictionaries recording "cheng--tio̍h" and "chhiong-tio̍h" use , especially the older ones. Meanwhile, for "sio-cheng" and "saⁿ-cheng" in ChhoeTaigi, different characters are used including "相衝", "相掙", "相舂", "相爭", which the differentiation seems to be about colliding as in people fighting and colliding as in objects or beings hitting each other accidentally or not.
