Delete. The content is encyclopaedic, as "British flora" would be. The fact that the topic of spelling happens to relate to a dictionary doesn't save it, IMO, any more than it would for an entry called "French spelling reforms". Equinox 03:08, 5 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
It looks pretty SOP to me. If you delete this, you should also delete American spelling. Kiwima (talk) 03:48, 5 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I've just RFDed that and added its header to this page section. Equinox 01:03, 6 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Delete. What's next? British pronunciation? Philmonte101 (talk) 09:44, 13 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Deleted, but a lot of terms link to these. Can someone run a bot to remove the links? — SMUconlaw (talk) 18:46, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
This should remove most of the links, though it make take a while to propagate to all affected entries. - -sche (discuss) 20:48, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

RFD-deleted in 2016; Mahagaja stated “the RFD was over 5 years ago and the new entry isn't the same as the old one, so no speedy, but feel free to take to RFD”. I disagree with the first point: deleted entries should not be recreated after 5 years. J3133 (talk) 12:49, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but Facts707 created this version with the edit summary "more nuanced than just Sum of Parts - also helpful in entry writing" so I think it can't hurt to revisit the question of whether this is purely SOP or whether there's more to it than that. —Mahāgaja · talk 12:59, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Speedy delete, still completely SOP imo, and if the creator wants to see it recreated they should lay out their arguments here. PUC13:29, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Delete. An interesting encyclopedia article but sum of parts here. Equinox 14:07, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to say keep, British spelling shouldn't be swept under the carpet. Long live British spelling!
DonnanZ (talk) 09:33, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia has an article on the topic, just as it has an article on same-sex marriage in New Zealand. The fact that this dictionary has no entries for these terms does not mean the topics are swept under the rug; it merely means the terms are not lexical.  --Lambiam 11:44, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Great way to vote. 👏. Maybe you should userify your most favorite term. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 15:46, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Userify is a very ugly, awful and unrecognised word. DonnanZ (talk) 14:15, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Delete – as much a sum of parts as American spelling, Australian spelling, Canadian spelling, Indian English spelling, Middle English spelling, ... .  --Lambiam 11:44, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Delete. Literally how the Brits spell words. Any meaning beyond SOP is of encyclopedic nature. DAVilla 11:30, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Should be deleted out of process. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 15:46, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
As defined, it's trivially SOP, so delete. I know people (including Wiktionary editors!) sometimes use it loosely to mean spellings also used in e.g. Australia or Ireland, but I don't know that that kind of lazy failure to be specific makes this idiomatic. - -sche (discuss) 09:19, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Keep, since it is widely used generically as a contrary to American spelling, irrespective of where these spellings are actually used. Mihia (talk) 22:13, 20 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Delete Svartava2 (talk) 02:19, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Speedy delete per J3133. On its merits, weak delete, because Mihia does make a good point. Imetsia (talk) 15:49, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
