Polysemy
editWow, with these four senses, the word is basically unusable. Equinox ◑ 16:26, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've seen usage guides for biweekly (and bimonthly) saying that since it means both 'twice a week' and 'every two weeks' you should instead use 'twice a week' and 'fortnightly'. So it's basically in the same boat, with less meanings. Renard Migrant (talk) 16:55, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Only if you ignore the contextual labels:
- (chiefly social sciences, of sexual desire or activity)
- (chiefly biology, sociology, psychology)
- (LGBT, chiefly Canada) LGB; queer; non-heterosexual.
- (of a person, rare) Sexual, experiencing sexual attraction; not asexual.
- Used in any of these contexts, the word has a clear and accepted definition.

- Similarly over-polysemous/contranymic: claviform. Is it shaped like a club, a nail, or a key? If anyone has more examples, mention them at User talk:-sche/exceptional#Most_contranymic. :) - -sche (discuss) 22:16, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
