Yes, I don't know Finnish. But this looks a lot like bulgarian (“Bulgarian”) + kieli (“language”). --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:25, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- It probably is, and it's got plenty of companions: ruotsin kieli, norjan kieli, venäjän kieli, italian kieli, espanjan kieli, islannin kieli... In Finnish the name of a country and its language are often only separated by capitalization: Ruotsi/ruotsi, Norja/norja, Venäjä/venäjä, Italia/italia, Espanja/espanja, Islanti/islanti. Therefore, in order to avoid confusion, the forms x:n kieli are quite common. Whether they deserve entries of their own, I leave to others to decide. - Weak keep, Finnish can often grammatically distinguish related meanings. For a foreigner like me, kieli#Finnish just isn't an affix, but the need to distinguish several senses (like country, ethnicity, language) is obvious. --129.125.102.126 23:55, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
- Delete all. I'm not seeing the arguments for keeping here. So it's a common form? So it is not an affix?. Lots of things in English are common forms and not affixes but do not have an entry for every singly usage. SpinningSpark 15:08, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

- Further: I don't see how this is different from having entries for "English language" or "Finnish language". The pattern is predictable: genitive (singular) + kieli, and it can be used to describe any language.
