Old French. TLFI only mentions epilence for Old French. Hazarasp (parlement · werkis) 05:06, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

- Did I!? Not sure where I got it from, but I can see that the OED(2) does cite "Old French epilepsie" as the immediate source of the English word. Ƿidsiþ 08:52, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- OED gives a date of 1503 for this etymon and labels it "Middle French". This is also mentioned by TLFi, although it's written with an acute accent on the first "e", but this appears to be an error when looking at the source text. I'll change this entry to Middle French.
