Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary! We notice that you're making changes anonymously. Although this is perfectly all right, we'd like to encourage you to take the time to create an account and sign in to it when editing – it's free and easy. A list of good reasons to do so is at Wiktionary:Why create an account?.

Please note that we are not Wikipedia. If you have edited there, then it won't be very difficult for you to find your way here, but there are a number of differences. For example, Wiktionary is case-sensitive: Kind (German) is not the same as kind (English, Danish, Dutch etc.) Also note that Wiktionary uses no parenthetic disambiguation, so where Wikipedia might have separate articles on Mercury (planet), Mercury (element), and Mercury (mythology), Wiktionary will only have one entry on Mercury which addresses proper noun uses, and an entry on mercury which addresses regular noun uses.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Questionable entries will be listed for verification, and, if they fail that process, will be deleted. Also, keep in mind our copyright policies: don't copy material from copyrighted sources here. Such additions will be deleted on sight. Submissions from IP addresses are looked at more closely, unfortunately, so please take a minute to create an account.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question in the appropriate discussion room or ask me on my talk page.

Enjoy your stay at Wiktionary! --Apisite (talk) 22:45, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Section headings

edit

Thank you for your contributions so far! It looks like you may be using a template to create a lot of pages, please double check that your section headings match the spelling and capitalization we use at WT:ELE. JeffDoozan (talk) 22:38, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Salar qān

edit

Please do not indicate long vowels with line. I indicate it in IPA pronunciation. Also, i know what your source is, but please show it as reference using this template. BurakD53 (talk) 09:17, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

About j in Salar

edit

Please use c letter for IPA /dʒ/ sound in Salar entries. If there is /ʒ/, than you can use j but /ʒ/ is dialect, if it has /dʒ/ don't use /ʒ/ form. j in Ma Chengjun /dʒ/, see in page 366. Also take care to certify with more than one reference if you can. Because there are also dialects in the Salar and there is no standard language. BurakD53 (talk) 15:07, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also if you add the page numbers, users can easily find your references. Keep in mind. BurakD53 (talk) 15:10, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
About Salar spelling, you can follow my edition here Category:Salar language. BurakD53 (talk) 16:42, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do not use x letter

edit

Do not use x letter while spelling Salar. Use k in front vowels, q in back vowels instead. BurakD53 (talk) 19:55, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Bcs x is unnecessary, we dont need extra letter and if you use x letter, then you should create more pages. Also TB30 doesn't have it. BurakD53 (talk) 20:02, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
