Hungarian edit

Etymology edit

From the obsolete alk (conformity, adaptation, adjustment to something) +‎ -alom.[1] The original stem is probably related to Hungarian alkot (to create) and alku (deal), and it may also be related to Hungarian olt (to vaccinate), which may derive from Proto-Uralic *alɜ- (to add/fasten to something, fit).[2]
