Hungarian edit

Etymology edit

From the verb hal (to die) +‎ -n +‎ -t + -ék. Its original meaning was probably “dying, fragile, perishable <thing>”. The change in meaning can be explained with the fact that the temple is the most fragile part of the head.[1]

  • IPA(key): [ˈhɒlaːnteːk]
  • Hyphenation: ha‧lán‧ték
  • Rhymes: -eːk
