Etymology

edit

Formed in the late 19th century as mis- (hatred) +‎ -andry (men) by analogy with misogyny; compare the Ancient Greek μισανδρία (misandría), from μισέω (miséō, hate) + ἀνήρ (anḗr, man).

Pronunciation

edit
