    Synonyms: na verdade, na realidade, na prática
  2. (Brazil, slang) frankly, honestly, truthfully
    Example: "Posso falar? Na real? Ela foi uma puta duma escrota comigo, cara!" — "You know what? Frankly? She was fuckin' mean to me, man!"

Usage notes edit

Since the 2010s, ubiquitous in "coxês", a Brazilian homologue of valspeak, yet valid for all genders. Since the 2020s, though, widespread among urban youths of the most diverse backgrounds, too.
