Etymology

Reconstructed as se- +‎ meng- +‎ andika, from Javanese ngandika (ꦔꦤ꧀ꦢꦶꦏ), andika (ꦲꦤ꧀ꦢꦶꦏ, “to tell”, literally “you”), from Old Javanese andika (“words, command, order, decree”). Calque of Late Latin sōliloquium (literally “only, sole + I speak”).
