  1. (of an animal, or a meat) too fat, as opposed to meaty
    Protein brought out more of the muscling and red meat before the cattle got too wastey with too much fat.

      "As a result, much of the beef that was consumed in the past was "wastey," requiring extensive trimming of the fat in order to provide suitable cuts for the retail and restaurant trade."
  2. (of a fruit or a vegetable) soft as a result of getting overripe
    Frosted or wastey fruit will be unsalable.
  3. (slang) getting drunk close to being wasted
