χαλινός
Ancient Greek edit
Alternative forms edit
- χάλιννος (khálinnos)
Etymology edit
According to Beekes, a Pre-Greek origin is probable, as it is difficult to explain "χαλ-" from Indo-European and as a suffix "-ιν-" is frequent in Pre-Greek.
