From Proto-Indo-European *bʰol-, o-grade of *bʰel- (to blow, grow, swell) +‎ -որ (-or); cognates include Ancient Greek φαλλός (phallós), Old Irish ball (body part), Latin follis and English bull.[1][2] Related to բեղուն (bełun), բողջ (boġǰ), պլոր (plor) and perhaps բլուր (blur).
