Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ödleg (time), a development of *öd (time); cognate with Azerbaijani öylə, Bashkir өйлә (öylə), Crimean Tatar üyle, Karakhanid اُذْلَكْ (öδlēg), Kipchak اُزْلا (özle) and Turkmen öýle.
