عمرها باید به نادر گاه‌گاه، تا که بینا از قضا افتد به چاه، کور را خود این قضا همراه اوست، که مرورا اوفتادن طبع و خوست.
'omr-hâ bâyad be nâder gâh-gâh, tâ ke binâ az qazâ oftad be čâh, kur-râ xod in qazâ hamrâh-e u-st, ke maru-râ oftâdan tab' o xust.
Lifetimes are needed—[so] rarely and occasionally [does it happen]—for the seeing man to fall by destiny into the pit; [but] as regards the blind man, this destiny indeed is his companion on the way, for it is his nature and disposition to fall.
