From Pre-Angkorian Old Khmer ʼnak, ʼnakk, ʼanak, or Angkorian Old Khmer ʼnak, ʼanak, ʼnakk, ʼnāk, ʼnāka, nāk, nākk, nakk (worthy: courtesy title for honorable men).
