"culture" in "cyberculture" etc. is absolutely not a suffix! It's just a common word that gets prefixed sometimes! Equinox 14:40, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Delete. I think the terms that use it can be cleaned up beforehand. DonnanZ (talk) 12:46, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Modify the French entry too, I'm not sure whether it's a legit suffix in French though. DonnanZ (talk) 12:52, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
No it's not, no more than it is in English. I don't know why the TLFi saw fit to speak of a "suffixal element" at aviculture”, in Trésor de la langue française informatisé [Digitized Treasury of the French Language], 2012. Per utramque cavernam 15:55, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Strongly Oppose removing the French entry. The point is that the TLFi did include it that way. The English is debatable; would like to see more sourced research presented pro- & con-. 172.97.145.140 11:53, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
An RFD for French wouldn't appear here anyway, and the French entry hasn't been sent to RFD. As the French are a law unto themselves, I won't argue about that. DonnanZ (talk) 11:37, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
We're not bound by what the TLFi says. Per utramque cavernam 13:11, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
The whole page was created only a few days ago by Alumnum, so you can probably rfd French too. DonnanZ (talk) 19:01, 17 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not a suffix; see French culture. Per utramque cavernam 21:27, 22 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

What is it we should see at French culture that tells us -culture is not a suffix in English?  --Lambiam 20:59, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
In French, you mean? I'm RFDing the French entry, not the English one. Per utramque cavernam 13:06, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
OK, sorry. I suspect it may be disputed that English -culture is a suffix on the same grounds, but I am not sure what those grounds are. Is it that as a presumed suffix it is not very productive, yielding merely apiculture, aquaculture, aquiculture, arboriculture, aviculture, citriculture, floriculture, horticulture, monoculture, pisciculture, viniculture and viticulture, at least as far as existing entries are concerned?  --Lambiam 00:22, 25 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
