Derived from booze?

edit

Isn't "Santa's Little Helper" also a euphemism for booze? I thought it was...could be wrong, though Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 18:36, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Delete per nom. I find no use of this term as a word with meaning other than the identification of the fictional character. bd2412 T 17:47, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Simpson character gets its name from a set phrase used with children during the Christmas holiday. It's a long time since I've heard it, so I don't remember if it refers to children who help out with Christmas preparations, or to children who give gifts, or to some other role of children in Christmas customs, but it's definitely a set phrase, and has always struck me as somewhat idiomatic. I doubt that the capitalization is the same as in this entry, though. Chuck Entz (talk) 03:52, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
As I remember, it refers to Santa's elves, not to human children. Also simply Santa's helper without the "little". —Angr 15:21, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
