Requesting protection for dżuma

edit

Apparently, the page dżuma as been vandalised several times over the last few month. Therefore, I would like to request semi-protection for this page. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:32, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Permission to delete pages

edit

Am I allowed permission to delete pages or this only for adminstrators? Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:59, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Admins only. Equinox 19:07, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
How many edits do I need to become an adminstrator? Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:39, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
The criteria for adminship is trust, not edit count. —suzukaze (tc) 19:40, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I would probably be trustworthy to become an adminstrator as I haven't been doing any bad edits. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:41, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Please remember point 4: User_talk:Pkbwcgs/Archive/February_2017#Adminship. Begging for admin when you are still very new looks bad. Equinox 19:47, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have been here since 18th January 2017 which is definitely more than one month and I reverted a lot of vandalism. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:49, 7 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Admins are the people entrusted with being in charge of the whole project. It takes more than just doing good things or being around for more than a given period of time. An admin has to not just know, but understand, the rules and practices of the site very well and show the judgment needed to enforce them properly. The fact that you're still asking very basic questions shows you're not anywhere near ready to be an admin. Chuck Entz (talk) 14:31, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser

edit

I would like to be a checkuser on Wiktionary because I have made more than 900 edits and a more than a month of experience. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:02, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser requires a higher level of trust and experience than administrator. And we have all the checkusers we need at the moment. DTLHS (talk) 19:32, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Checkusers don't delete pages or block users. They only look into IPs so how come everyone can't be a checkuser? Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:36, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Let's turn this on you: Why are you so desirous of power? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 01:35, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't have any power and I have been editing for quite a bit of time. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:08, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
You can still do a lot without those powers. I'm pretty sure I've been around way longer than you and have made many more edits, but I'm still only an autopatroller (not that I'm complaining). It's a matter of letting the community build trust in you. You've gotta take those baby steps. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 05:21, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Automatic System to Issue Warnings

edit

Is there any gadget that can automatically issue warnings for users who vandalise Wiktionary or does this have to be done manually? Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:13, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

γειτονιά

edit

neighbourhood is a soft redirect to neighborhood; it is traditional to link to the primary entry on en.WT. Thank you for welcoming me to Wiktionary! - Amgine/ t·e 22:53, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Talk:nao

edit

aWa has accidently archived a discussion by accident to Talk:nao. I am not sure if Nao should have been deleted but a user closed the discussion as being deleted. If this is the case, can you please delete Nao. Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:29, 12 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? The RFD was for Breton nao, not Nao. (BTW, if you have any questions or requests, you should ask them on the appropriate pages instead of your own talk page. That will make it easier for you to get answers since not everyone's going to visit your talk page.) — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 05:06, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

About archiving

edit

Hi, I just wanted to remind you that it is general practice not to archive a discussion that is still in progress, i.e. we generally don't archive part of a discussion, but wait till it's finished and archive the whole thing. It just makes it easier for people to follow. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:07, 15 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am only archiving discussions that are already finished and are closed for at least five days. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:17, 15 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
But how come you still have part of "Checkuser" left on your talk page? The whole discussion should still be there. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:20, 15 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I left it open in case anyone want to comment on it. I put back part of the discussion but I removed old comments and archived them. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:22, 15 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
