Welcome edit

Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.

If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.

These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:

  • Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
  • Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
  • Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
  • If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
  • If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
  • Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) which automatically produces your username and timestamp.
  • You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.

Enjoy your stay at Wiktionary! Ultimateria (talk) 19:07, 18 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Ultimateria --RajeshPandey (talk) 05:15, 19 August 2012 (UTC) . I have created Wiktionary:Babel for ne-N and used it in my page.Reply
The reason behind editing Wiktionary was that : I had seen some "ne" words that had to be translated. They were tagged for translation. I have translated them here: adjective, clock, chew, crow, dream, erection and fruit

Welcome again edit

Although you have been on Wiktionary longer than me, I would like to welcome you :)

One of the administrators told me you have been making some very good contributions in Nepali. I am glad that we have a native Nepali editor! I love the script, but I sorry to admit that I cannot read it at all. (Perhaps one day!)

Here is a page you might be interested in: Category:Nepali_language. It includes a link to the "about" page, which does not exist yet. You can see about pages for many languages just by searching for WT:About XXX.

You might be interested in making or requesting templates for Nepali. Templates provide noun/adjective declensions (singular, plural, masculine, feminine, etc.) and verb conjugations so that Wiktionary entries provide all the forms. Currently, we have only three templates for Nepali, at Category:Nepali_templates, but nothing with declensions/conjugations. We have some people who are really good at creating templates and who can help you learn.

We also have a mentoring program at WT:MP if you are interested in a dedicated mentor. Otherwise, I will be monitoring this page, so you can ask questions here, on my page, or click "community portal" at left for the Wiktionary forums.

By the way, nice work on the ne template! --BB12 (talk) 05:54, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Benjamin for your kind words. I would like to request for ne-1, ne-2, ne-3, ne-4 templates. I tried to find a template request page. However I could only find deletion requests. Can you please create ne-1,ne-2,ne3,ne-4 templates because they don't yet exist in en-Wiktionary. Thanks --RajeshPandey (talk) 06:09, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Rajesh. The template pages will be at Template:User_ne-1, Template:User_ne-2, Template:User_ne-3, Template:User_ne-4. You can create them based on the ne template you made, or if you tell me what wording to use, I will add them :) --BB12 (talk) 06:31, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Benjamin, Can you please create them for me in English. I will edit and translate them. It would be easier for me when I don't have to remember the codes and syntax-es. :) thanks.--RajeshPandey (talk) 21:00, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Created. Now you just have to translate them. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 21:21, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, MK. --BB12 (talk) 22:29, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
