Usage notes edit
- Kecamatan is used for Dutch East Indies administrative division in Java of Dutch onderdistrict (literally “subdistrict”), which was replaced by Japanese 村 (son) during Japanese occupation.
- Because of special status, kecamatan is replaced by distrik in Papua and West Papua and kapanewon and kemantren in Yogyakarta.
