provvedérsi (first-person singular present mi provvédo, first-person singular past historic mi provvìdi, past participle provvedùto or (rare in a verbal sense) provvìsto)

  1. to obtain, provide or equip
    Synonyms: fornirsi, munirsi

Usage notes

edit
  • The conjugation of this verb differs from vedere in two ways: (1) The future and conditional are regularly formed, as mi provvederò etc. (contrast mi vedrò); (2) The form provveduto is the normal past participle, while provvisto is rare. As adjectives, provveduto means "shrewd, sensible" as well as "provided with the necessary preparation", while provvisto means "provided, supplied, furnished, endowed".
