Etymology

From Common Turkic *yakšï, derivation of Proto-Turkic *yak- (“to draw near; to fit, to be well-suited”).

Cognate with Turkmen ýagşy, Salar yaxşı, Crimean Tatar yahşı, Tatar яхшы (yaxşı), Kyrgyz жакшы (jakşı), Kazakh жақсы (jaqsy), Uzbek yaxshi, Uyghur ياخشى (yaxshi), dialectal Turkish yakşı.

3. come on, stop it, enough

   Yaxşı da, zarafat edirik. Uşaq olma. ― Come on, we're just joking. Don't be such a child.

4. (sarcastic) yeah right, get off with you! often followed by da to denote a disbelief in what one says.

   — Dünən müdür məni yanına çağırdı, dedi sən bizim ən yaxşı işçimizsən, maaşıvı artırırıq!
   — Yaxşı!

   "Yesterday, boss asked me to come by and told me, 'You are our best worker, we're going to raise your salary!'"
   "Yeah right"!
