Etymology
editFrom Common Turkic *yakšï, derivation of Proto-Turkic *yak- (“to draw near; to fit, to be well-suited”).
Cognate with Turkmen ýagşy, Salar yaxşı, Crimean Tatar yahşı, Tatar яхшы (yaxşı), Kyrgyz жакшы (jakşı), Kazakh жақсы (jaqsy), Uzbek yaxshi, Uyghur ياخشى (yaxshi), dialectal Turkish yakşı.
