- *j preferred to *y
- *w preferred to *β, *v
- *x preferred to *γ, *ɣ
- *ŋ preferred to *ng
- *ë preferred to *ï
- 2nd syllable *ä preferred to *a in front-vocalic words
- 2nd syllable *i may be preferrable to *e (tbh I'd rather use *ə but that's not quite a standard yet)
