Etymology edit

From Proto-Slavic *sъnęti, from *sъ(n)- + *ęti. Reanalyzed as з- (z-) +‎ -(й)ня́ти (-(j)njáty).[1] Compare Russian снять (snjatʹ), Belarusian зняць (znjacʹ).
