Etymology

From Pali paṭipatti (“course of action; conduct; observance”). Cognate with Old Khmer pattipãtta (“admission, reception; to be admitted (to), to be received (into); etc”); Modern Khmer បដិបត្តិ (bɑɑdəptteʼ, “to perform; to carry out; etc”); Lao ປະຕິບັດ (pa ti bat).
