In Japanese, (しゃ)(しん) (shashin) refers to photographs in general. However, in contemporary Chinese, 寫真写真 (xiězhēn) often carries sexual connotations, commonly associated with 寫真集写真集 (xiězhēnjí, “photo book”) which depict cheesecake models and porn starlets.
