Manchu ᡶᡠᠯᡤᡳᠶᠠᠨ (fulgiyan), Mongolian улаан (ulaan); Proto-Mongolic *hüker (ox), Proto-Tungusic *pukur (cow), Proto-Turkic *öküŕ (ox) etc.
