• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
• Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.

ญวน

ขอแหล่งอ้างอิง ญวน ที่แสดงให้ดูได้หน่อยครับ ผมมีข้อมูลเพียงว่า ญวน อาจมาจากการอ่าน 阮 (Nguyễn) เพี้ยนไปโดยคนจีนในสยามสมัยนั้น ซึ่งราชวงศ์เหงวียนเข้ามาบุกรุกสยาม เมื่อคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 17 (ซึ่งภาษาที่ตรงกับยุคนี้คือ เขมรกลาง กับ เวียดนามกลาง) ผมเข้าใจว่า mkh-okm กับ mkh-vie ก็มาจากเส้นทางเดียวกันครับ เป็นไปได้หรือไม่ว่า yvan = 阮 --Octahedron80 (talk) 08:43, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

1. ไม่มีแหล่งอ้างอิงเรื่องที่มาของคำว่า ญวน ค่ะ
2. แต่คิดว่า คำไทยว่า ญวน นี้น่าจะเก่ากว่าคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 17 เพราะมีเอ่ยในพงศาวดารช่วงรัชกาลพระราเมศวร (ทั้งพระราเมศวร โอรสพระเจ้าอู่ทอง และราเมศวร น้องพระนเรศวร คือ พระเอกาทศรถ) เช่น ตอนหนึ่งว่า "ครั้นอยู่มา ญวนยกมารบ ถ้ามาน้อย ชาวกำพูชาเปนใจรบ ถ้ามามาก เรรวนไป" และมีในเอกสารโบราณอื่น ๆ อีก
3. แล้วค้นจาก พจนานุกรมภาษาเขมรโบราณของ Sealang มีคำ yvan อ่านว่า /juːən/ ตรงกับเขมรปัจจุบันว่า យួន แปลว่า เวียดนาม พจนานุกรมนี้บอกว่า origin in doubt (ที่มาของคำยังไม่แน่)
4. บทความ Yona ที่วิกิพีเดียภาษาอังกฤษ (ซึ่งมีอ้างอิง) บอกว่า យួន เป็น ethnic slur (คำเพี้ยนทางชาติพันธุ์ ?) หมายถึง คนเวียดนาม มาจากคำอินเดีย Yavana (น่าจะหมายถึงสันสกฤต यवन yavana)
5. ส่วน พจนานุกรมภาษาเขมรปัจจุบันของ Sealang บอกก็ว่า យួន อาจมาจากสันสกฤต yavana แล้วบอกว่า ปัจจุบัน คำ យួន นี้บางทีก็ใช้เรียกแบบดูแคลน (pejorative)

Redirections

Hey. Why are you redirecting entries (น้ำนม, น้ำหมึก, etc.)? Are they non-existent words? Bear in mind that misspellings should have their own entries. --Giorgi Eufshi (talk) 11:11, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

@Giorgi Eufshi: They are not lemmas. They are just combinations of terms which usually appear together without new meanings. For example, น้ำนม (milk) is from น้ำ (liquid) + นม (milk) and is redirected to the main word, นม (milk). A note will later be added to the entry นม (milk) to inform readers that it may be preceded with น้ำ (just like the entry อาทิตย์ in which the terms that often precede it are indicated in the form "ดวง~, พระ~", for example). I'm not sure how to call these preceding terms - aren't they called headwords? Anyway, I have been advised to do so instead of seeking deletion of those combinations. There have been discussions elsewhere, such as: Wiktionary:Requests for deletion#รัฐโอไฮโอ, User talk:Octahedron80#~ in definitions. --หมวดซาโต้ (talk) 12:02, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi,

Old Khmer & Middle Khmer

แจ้งให้ทราบ Old Khmer และ Middle Khmer ได้เปลี่ยนรหัสจาก mkh-okm และ mkh-mkm เป็น okz และ xhm ตามลำดับ (รวมทั้ง okz-A, okz-P) หากเจอตัวแดงที่ใด ขอให้ช่วยกันแก้ไขด้วย --Octahedron80 (talk) 01:21, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
