Goguryeo

edit

What should we do about Goguryeo @-sche, @Metaknowledge, @Surjection, @Victar, @Eirikr, @Theknightwho, etc.? Chuterix (talk) 15:46, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

A decade ago, in Wiktionary:Beer_parlour/2012/October#On_Goguryeo (and the follow-up), we deleted Goguryeo entries because they were all reconstructions. It's possible things have changed since then; have they? If there are attested terms, they might belong in the mainspace like diff (unless we are subsuming them under another code). If they are not attested, they might still merit Reconstruction:-namespace entries, and/or mentions in etymology sections as in diff. (If we don't trust the reference/reconstructions, that's different, but without looking into more closely I can't judge that.) - -sche (discuss) 21:51, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
What about place name glosses like Goguryeo (*me, water, (only Chuterix (talk) 22:01, 30 May 2023 (UTC)) in place names)? Do they go into reconstruction namespace? Chuterix (talk) 22:00, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to assume that and start creating reconstructed entries anyway. Similar to how we have Pictish language. Chuterix (talk) 22:04, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Make sure to include references / sources in any such reconstruction entries. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 22:47, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
(Notifying TAKASUGI Shinji, Atitarev, HappyMidnight, Tibidibi, Quadmix77, Kaepoong): , @Solarkoid. First, I definitely think that the Korean working group should've been pinned (can find the working group at {{wgping}}). Secondly, I definitely think that there should be a policy or guideline similar to what's done at WT:About Baekje or WT:About Old Korean, so that there's more clarity as to which entries should be included. I'm not as familiar with Goguryeo, so I'll likely leave it at that and defer to folks like Tibidibi for more guidance. AG202 (talk) 01:00, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Meant to ping @Chuterix as well AG202 (talk) 01:04, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
