These are the rules concerning transliteration in Chechen entries.
Wiktionary standard transliteration of Chechen. It follows Gippert, J.: Caucasian Alphabet Systems Based Upon the Cyrillic Script. (TITUS) (http://titus.uni-frankfurt.de/didact/caucasus/kaukschr.pdf), with the exception of Chechen e and о, which are transliterated as e and o, and with the addition of custom-transliterated letters юь (jü) and яь (jä). The letters found only in Russian loanwords follow the scholarly transliteration for Russian.

The vowel length is not usually represented in the orthography, to clarify it, a macron diacritic (А̄ а̄ (Aa aa)) should be used in the headword.
