mitzeichnen (weak, third-person singular present zeichnet mit, past tense zeichnete mit, past participle mitgezeichnet, auxiliary haben)

  1. (office, idiomatic) to cosign; to sign a document prepared for a decision maker in order to indicate to them that one has read it and agrees
    Alle Abteilungsleiter müssen mitzeichnen, bevor der Entwurf dem Vorstand vorgelegt wird.
    All heads of department have to cosign before the draft is presented to the manager.
  2. (ad-hoc formation) to draw along with others
    Alle Kinder zeichneten, nur Peter wollte nicht mitzeichnen.
    All children were drawing, only Peter didn’t want to draw along.
