Etymology

Originally a nonlexical vocable used in scat singing. Popularized by the web series Skibidi Toilet (2023–present), the 2018 song "Skibidi" by Little Big and the Brrr Skibidi Dop Dop Yes Yes meme, based on sped up lyrics to the 2007 Timbaland song "Give It to Me".

Usage notes

• This sense was coined or popularised by a short viral song on the video-sharing social media platform TikTok utilising Internet slang associated with Generation Alpha entitled “Gyatstacy” (but more commonly known as “Sticking Out Your Gyat for the Rizzler”) by the user @ovp.9. A parody of the song "ecstacy", the debut single by SUICIDAL-IDOL, @ovp.9 sings “you're so skibidi” and “you're so Fanum tax”; Fanum tax, a proper noun, refers to the playful taking of the portion of a friend's food without permission. As such, it is not an adjective, and neither was skibidi before the song's release.
