y- (peg element) + -s- (si-perfective 3rd person subject prefix) + -d- (classifier)-tłizh (neuter perfective stem of root -TŁIIZH, “to be dark brown, stained”).

Compare Koyukon tłɨs (“to be crushed”), Sarcee dlish (“be spotted”).
