Glyph originEdit

Ideogrammic compound (會意): 𠫓 (child) + (basket) + (two hands) - throwing out a child in a basket.

In the oracle bone script form, 𠫓 appears as 子 ('child') with three dashes on either side of its head and body, perhaps representing tears or sweat, and 丗 appears as 𠀠, the ancient form of ('basket'), while 廾 is the ancient form of ('fold hands; hold with both hands or arms; surround'). In various Zhou forms, the 子 had been inverted to become 𠫓 while the 𠀠 had become corrupted to 丗.
