As this page is locked for me, could someone update the information for Maquiritari from

m["mch"] = {
	names = {"Maquiritari"},
	type = "regular",
	scripts = {"None"},
	family = "sai-car",
}

to

m["mch"] = {
	names = {"Maquiritari", "Makiritare", "Ye'kwana", "Ye'kuana", "Yekuana", "De'kwana", "So'to", "Maiongong"},
	type = "regular",
	scripts = {"Latn"},
	family = "sai-car",
}

? Thanks, Vorziblix (talk) 18:39, 22 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Mewari

edit

@AryamanA I think Mewari should be mtr. DerekWinters (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

@DerekWinters: Yeah, I forgot to change it while copying and pasting. Fixed now. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 21:55, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
@DerekWinters, AryamanA Based on a limited prior discussion, dhd, mtr, mve, rwr, swv, and wry were all merged into mwr (Marwari). (This is documented at WT:LT; I should really finish adding "pointers" to these modules so people can tell when codes are missing due to oversight and when they have been intentionally removed.) If you know of reasons why Mewari and Marwari need separate codes, I defer to you; please summarize them, and (you can or I will) update WT:LT accordingly and link to this discussion. :) - -sche (discuss) 22:07, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
@-sche: I think "Mewari" was included accidentally, it's a different language (not to be confused with "Merwari" which *is* a dialect of Marwari). See e.g. SIL's report which lists it as a separate language. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 22:09, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
@-sche, AryamanA: To be entirely honest, unlike some of the varieties of Hindi, namely Braj and Awadhi, with extremely rich literary histories, I'm not entirely sure the Rajasthani versions should have separate codes. Aryaman what do you think? DerekWinters (talk) 22:11, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
@DerekWinters: Ethnologue says about Marwari, "67% intelligibility of Shekhawati [swv], 61% of Godwari [gdx], 54% of Mewari [mtr], 54% of Dhundari [dhd], 45% of Haroti [hoj], and 45% of Mewati [wtm]. 53% intelligibility of Shekawati by Marwari. Lexical similarity: 50%–65% with Hindi [hin], 69%–76% with Merwari [wry], 72%–87% between dialects, 62%–74% with Godwari [gdx], 61%–77% with Shekawati [swv]." This is just within Marwari, so I think there is enough difference to justify keeping them separate. Furthermore, I think the current Rajasthani words should be changed to Marwari, because they only represent that language and not a pan-Rajasthan standard. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 22:47, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
@AryamanA: That's good enough for me. And definitely, in fact we should deprecate Rajasthani as well. DerekWinters (talk) 22:49, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Minangkabau

edit

Can "ms-Arab" or simply "Arab" be added to the section "min" for Minangkabau? --Apisite (talk) 10:11, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Erutuon Hello? --Apisite (talk) 21:04, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Erutuon The same thing goes for Maranao [mrw] too. --Apisite (talk) 08:19, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Apisite: Sorry, finally went through my notifications and saw this one. Done; I did Arab because I'm not familiar with ms-Arab or these languages. If these languages use characters that are used in Malay written in Arabic script and that are not well supported in fonts for the Arabic language, I can switch them to ms-ArabEru·tuon 05:18, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

mep

edit

@Erutuon @Octahedron80 Currently, the canonical name of the language in WT is spelled Miriwung, even though every primary/secondary source I could find recommended the spelling Miriwoong, as that is consistent with the language's own orthography, while the spellings "Miriwung" and "Miriuwung" are considered nonstandard. Can someone fix it? --Numberguy6 (talk) 23:44, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Numberguy6: This requires more than editing this module (changing headers in entries at the minimum), so I suggest bringing this up in WT:RFM because there are people there who handle language renaming. — Eru·tuon 03:41, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
