Dutch edit

Etymology edit

From Middle Dutch luusteren, lūsteren, from Old Dutch *lūstren, from Proto-West Germanic *hlūstrēn, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ḱlew- (to hear). Cognate with German Low German lüstern (to listen), Old High German lūstarēn (whence obsolete or dialectal German laustern, Luxembourgish lauschteren).
