Etymology edit

Inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀝𑀧𑁆𑀧𑁆 (*ṭapp, dripping sound) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-). Cognate with Marathi ठिपकणे (ṭhipakṇe).
