• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
• Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.

Polish declension of one

Entries without headword templates

Headword-line templates such as {{lv-proper noun}} don't just show things on the headword line, they also categorize. If you don't want to use {{lv-proper noun}}, you can use {{head|lv|proper noun}} and use the |head= parameter to control what shows on the headword line. For instance {{head|lv|proper noun|head=Augstā Dziesma}} will display Augstā Dziesma, while {{head|lv|proper noun|head=[[augsta|Augstā]] [[dziesma|Dziesma]]}} will display Augstā Dziesma. Could you go back and fix all the entries that you created without headword-line templates?

Also, edit comments like 'I am creating the locution "Augstā Dziesma"' look silly to native English-speakers, like you think you're announcing a momentous deed to the world in a grand speech. Besides, you don't need any edit comment at all for an entry creation, since it's obvious from the page history. Thanks! Chuck Entz (talk) 03:50, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

It would be cool if you had Babel in Wiktionary as well. For one thing, you would no longer have a redlinked user. For another thing, Babel is more important in Wikt than in Wikipedia since in Wikt people often contribute in multiple languages and that can be source of errors when they go beyond their capacity. --Dan Polansky (talk) 11:29, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Hawaiian translations

I don't know what your sources are, but your translations of Joshua, Daniel and Habakkuk were wrong, and I can see you've put wrong entries for several books of the bible, too. [1] Here is a reliable source. Are your entries for biblical books in the Wikimedia incubator meant to be Hawaiian? For example, -s is not a plural form in Hawaiian. I have no time to clean them up now, but please don't make any more careless edits in languages you don't know.--Makaokalani (talk) 14:49, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Yes, my entries for biblical books in Wikimedia Incubator meant to be Hawaiian. Now, I am creating entries with books of the Bible in Welsh in the Wiktionary in Welsh. When I finish all these entries, I will access the site http://www.baibala.org and I will see as are the books of the Bible in Hawaiian, and if have any error, I will move any entries with these books to the correct entry. Let's keep the discussion on one page, OK? I have added all Hawaiian translations of biblical books in this dictionary - new orthography (2012 translation), short versions for consistency. Even if you move the Wikimedia Incubator entry names the content is still full of mistakes. I don't want to leave my user name in the page history of that mess. As first aid, please remove all -s endings, turn kapikala ("capital city") into mokuna and liwele into puke. Please don't add genders (m,f) to Finnish translations, they don't exist. I agree with Dan Polansky that you should add your Babel here, and in every wiktionary that you edit in, as a courtesy towards other editors. --Makaokalani (talk) 14:44, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Your Finnish edits

Please note that there's no grammatical gender in Finnish. Also, "Book" is "kirja" in Finnish. It usually isn't part of a person's name (re: your edit of Habakkuk). Third, we don't name the books of the Bible just by the name of the author - there's always a headword, e.g. kirja, kirje, evankeliumi. You can check the Finnish names of the books of the Bible here: Luettelo Raamatun kirjoista. If you are not sure of what you are doing, please don't do it. Dutch edits

I'd like to echo what Hekaheka wrote above, but for your additions of Dutch translations. For instance on Zechariah the name of the prophet and the book of the Bible were incorrect—these are the kind of errors that can linger for years. I'd suggest either checking the name in a recent (mainstream) translation or in a print reference work before adding them. If you can't find it, you can request a translation by adding a line * Dutch: {{t-needed|nl}}. ←₰-→ Lingo ^Bingo _Dingo (talk) 14:00, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
