- A letter of the Armeno-Turkish script, named կէն (gen). Represents voiced palatal plosive: [ɟ]. Transliterated as g.
Usage notes
editPrimarily used before a front vowel; i.e., before one of է (e), ի (i), էօ (ö), իւ (ü). Modern Turkish gâ etc. are represented as կեա etc., preserving the rule. Some authors write Modern Turkish palatal ğ with this letter, while others replace it with յ (y).
