From สิทธิ (sìt-tí, “right”) + เก็บกิน (“to store benefits for enjoyment”, literally “to keep and enjoy”).
Probably first used on 16 March 1930, when the fourth book of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand was promulgated.

- มาตรา ๑๔๑๗ อสังหาริมทรัพย์อาจต้องตกอยู่ในบังคับสิทธิเก็บกินอันเป็นเหตุให้ผู้ทรงสิทธินั้นมีสิทธิครอบครอง ใช้ และถือเอาซึ่งประโยชน์แห่งทรัพย์สินนั้น
