The 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of 帯ぶ (obu, “to put something on the body”, transitive), following 四段活用 (yodan katsuyō, “quadrigrade conjugation”).[1]
First attested in the Nihon Shoki of 720 CE.[1]
