  • Virke means only the whole sentence or set of clauses ending with a period, exclamation point or question mark. Thus, "Minä menen kouluun, vaikka en jaksaisi." is a virke where "Minä menen kouluun" is a lause (here more exactly: päälause) and "vaikka en jaksaisi" is a lause (here more exactly: sivulause).
