Etymology

Reduplication of กล้วย (glûai, “banana”); perhaps influenced by the idiom ปอกกล้วยเข้าปาก (bpɔ̀ɔk-glûai-kâo-bpàak, literally “to peel a banana and put it in the mouth”).
