Cognate with Avestan 𐬀𐬭𐬆𐬱𐬀𐬥 (arəšan), Ancient Greek ἄρσην (ársēn), Old Armenian առն (aṙn), Latin verrēs (boar). Also related to वृषभ (vṛṣabhá), वृषन् (vṛṣan).
