Usage notes
editWhile 澳洲 (Àozhōu) is commonly used in Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas Chinese communities to denote Australia, it is not always understood in mainland China, or is misunderstood as Oceania. To avoid confusion, the standard term 澳大利亞/澳大利亚 (Àodàlìyà) can be used.
